Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I know this post is way overdue, but I have been busy with Christmas and my kids as I am sure most of you are as well. I did receive a few things for Christmas from AG that my husband was very generous in giving me. I will post those later in the week. Just wanted to make sure everyone had a happy Christmas and a great New Year! Stay safe.

Holiday Gift Plans

Well, since funds are always tight for us, this year my daughter wants an 18" doll. I have a springfield doll that I plan on making a wardrobe for and giving the whole thing to her for Christmas. I am also teaching her how to sew as she is working on some badges for Brownies. (Girl Guides of Canada) She has no idea about this. I will also crochet a few things for her new doll as well.

For hubby, I plan on making him a sewn shirt. He picked out the pattern and the fabric. He always gets something made by me for Christmas and he loves it! It's usually pajamas, but this year he wanted a shirt made of thermal knit fabric with red skulls. :)

And for my son, I plan on making him a pair of flannel pajamas. His first had made item from me!

So Very Sick

I have been sick in some way since August. It started out with chest pains and having a hard time breathing. Finally, in October, we discovered it was my asthma acting up. Just when I get started with my puffers, I had to go to the hospital to get a different puffer as the one my doctor put me on, was not enough. Oh, that happened on my birthday. Nice way to spend the evening. A couple of days later, I now have a nasty chest and head cold, but the good thing is, I can breath at least. Just not through my nose. I know, TMI! But at least the nasty chest pains are gone. I will gladly take a cold over those pains any day!

AG Playthings Halloween Swap

I participated again in this years Halloween swap. I had a lot of fun doing this. First I made Laurel a purple medieval gown in crushed panne and gauze with cording for a belt and pearl button in the back.

Then I received a pirate costume from Melinda. She included a muslin top, black skirt with purple satin underskirt, satin and beaded belt and headband, 2 bracelets, a necklace, an eyepatch, a sword and a pumpkin bag.

New Cross Stitch

I am sorry I have not been updating lately. Health issues are still being a pain. My asthma is getting under control which is making me feel better, but I think my bronchitis is acting up again, which is annoying.

I did this cat cross stitch for my mom. She found the kit at a thrift store, and loves cats, but cannot cross stitch so she asked me to do it for her. Enjoy.

Summer Sewing Swap 2010

I participated in this year's AG Playthings Summer Sewing Swap. I will post pics of what I made and sent when they are received. I received a gorgeous dress with two jackets, a purse, a pinner cap and a bum roll as well as a home made card from Jenifer "Gomunk" for my Elizabeth. I love it and so does Elizabeth.

I am including a picture of the bum roll in case people don't know what it is. It is tied around the waist with the bulky part behind to pouf out the back of the skirt.

On another note, I have been feeling very lousy lately. I have had chest pains related to my back injury because my diaphragm is now taking up the slack for my back and is always tense and will not relax. My chiropractor is working on it, but it disturbs me all the time as it inhibits anything I want to do right now.

Finished Noah's Sub

Today I finished Noah's Sub. It took awhile, as I put it down for a couple of months, but I put the final stitches in it this morning. Please ignore the creases. My husband was holding the top and my daughter was holding the bottom. Enjoy!

Elton John concert

One of my mother's dreams was to see Elton John live. Well, in April, tickets went on sale where I live and so I bought two tickets. I knew she would never get one for herself so I gave her one for Mother's Day! She was ecstatic. The concert was Monday, July 12. It was awesome. I did not get any pictures as I did not bring a camera. They were not allowing them in. Although, several people did get cameras in. Oh well. He played for almost 3 hours and it was an amazing show. My mom was in heaven! The next, she still could not believe it. I am so glad I was able to make one of my mom's dreams come true!! :)

Some sewing done

Well I did get some sewing done last week, will post the pictures as soon as the one dress is completed. I have to put buttons on it. I want to do more sewing, and have ideas for several outfits, but my back is just not allowing me to. Ever since my car accident two years ago, my back has suffered. So have my kids. I just can't do everything I want to. I will keep trying, though.

Sewing and Crochet

Well, I have been crocheting and sewing a bit for a Valentine's Day swap. I am just finding it hard to get anything done with my 3 year old son running around. LOL He likes to watch me sew, but when he leans on the table, he does not know how to sit still. I will post pictures of what I am doing as soon as my recipient receives her items.
